Russell Sparkman is our director of marketing and sales. He also has a “summer job” as a fishing guide at Waterfall Resort, in Southeast Alaska.
He’s recently returned from salmon fishing in Alaska with King Salmon to share with us. So, I thought it’d be appropriate to share my favorite salmon spread recipe!
Enjoy!

Smoked Salmon Spread

Ingredients and Preparation
8 oz smoked salmon (no bones or skin)
5 T mayonnaise (we recommend Primal Kitchen brand or other avocado oil based mayo)
3 T cream cheese
3 T lemon juice
2 cloves garlic, coarsely chopped or pressed
1 ½ T capers, rinsed and drained
2 T chopped parsley
¼ tsp Tabasco sauce
- In a food processor place salmon, mayonnaise, cream cheese, lemon juice and garlic and pulse several times. If you like it smoother pulse a bit more.
- Transfer to a work bowl and add capers, 1 T parsley and Tabasco.
- Garnish with additional 1 T chopped parsley. If desired add edible flower, chives or paprika for additional garnish.
- Serve with your favorite cracker (I love the grain free Jilz brand). Or, serve with cucumber slices, endive leaves or on an appetizer salad.
